GCT Sludge Traps

Sludge traps (grit tanks) are sedimentation tanks installed upstream of an oil-water separator to remove sand, silt, and grit, etc. The capacity of the sludge trap is typically calculated based on the nominal size (NS) of the downstream separator and the expected volume of wastewater as per SANS 50858-2.

GCT stainless steel sludge traps are designed according to standards set out in SANS 50858-1 & 2.
